Goats

I like 'em.

Seriously though, sometimes I feel like a really connect with animals. When we went to interview Kim for Know Your Farmer, which, by the way, you can see informatively captioned photos of on my facebook page, I realized how much I like goats. They, along with squirrels and cats, are animals that I feel like I understand in some way.

Commas commas everywhere.

Time to write the newsletter. SERIOUSLY. It's one of those things that I know I should do and is not, by any means, a repulsive activity. I just don't do it. I don't know why. But with the time constraint of my departure, I feel more pressure to get on that.

computers

suck.

They do.

They suck the life out of me and they suck. And I'm hoping to be a little friendlier with my computer before I become "a little less wise," in the words of Serena Caffrey. That being said, I'm probably going to be putting out the newsletter a day earlier (I decided bi-weekly would be the best bet for that, as progress will be more evident).

In other news, I like bicycling.

Symbiotic

Is an irrelevant word.

Man, I'm so bad at titles.

We had an encouraging/overwhelming meeting. I feel clear about my goals. I am clear about what I am going to do each day. But it's so much; maybe it's too much. I've undertaken a lot and wonder if maybe it'd be best if someone else did something. I want to make art to sell, but I also need to focus on my studio II summer assignment for art and not get drawn away by other projects.

I'm sorry I haven't been so good about uploading things. Currently, my normal computer is being fixed, and I'm using a mac that I am babysitting for a summer. However, it will not allow me to log on to the omni website for some reason. But I've been taking pictures and recruiting volunteers and working on other things.

Charming

Get it? 'Cause third time's a charm?

Bad joke. Bad. Joke.

Good news: Farmer Jesse will receive help. I got a local youth group involved and also called Gipsye to get re-involved. It's exciting.

I'm also tired but wanted to be consistent, so here's my post.

Au Revoir

patience

Is what my working with my handy dandy pc is teaching me. Patience. And determination.

The video is done! Finished! If only I could upload it and show you the fruit of our labor, but no, the most creative of technical difficulties are arriving. Like only uploading 1 minute of the video onto youtube. You'd think it just wouldn't upload at all...

...maybe it's reflecting the general American sentimentality of mediocrity.

Goals:
-to raise public awareness of the local food system through the media and through photography
-to establish ties between churches who want to serve and farmers who need help
-fruitcycles, producycles, callitwhatyoumaycycles
-to have a healthy lifestyle that can be an example to the community

UPDATE: The video is done! Youtube is being picky, but it's on my facebook! Go look!

the first

Turns out I'm allergic to chiggers, too. Not just mosquitoes. I feel your pain, Amanda.

So I feel a little bad about being the last to create one (I think I'm the last?), but I am glad we all got it done. I laughed a little when Ryan said "you can post at midnight today as long as you get it done." And yet, here I am, close to midnight.

I'm excited about working. Genuinely. Today, I tried to come home and finish all the uploading of photos and whatnot. Windows said it was "embarrassed" that it was having problems. I doubted its genuineness, and went on to help Jeanie and Andrea collect dirt.

Though my first day was a little less fruitless than I had hoped, I am making some changes in my own life that I think will be healthy for being an example in the community. I ate a salad with fresh vegetables, went to work out with Andrea, drew some, and realized I don't really like the taste of chicken. I need to be healthy this summer if I want others to do the same.
